UCI graduation season hits different. There’s something about that ring road circling Aldrich Park, the bougainvillea crawling up every wall, and the late-afternoon light turning everything gold that makes UC Irvine one of the best campuses in California to photograph. When Logan reached out about booking his UCI graduation session, I knew we were going to have a blast. These photos delivered.
Logan is a University of California, Irvine Class of 2026 grad, and he wanted his session to feel relaxed, cinematic, and true to the campus he called home for four years. We moved across some of UCI’s most iconic spots, from the curved concrete facade of Langson Library to the lush green arches near the Multipurpose Science and Technology Building, making sure we hit every backdrop that makes UCI graduation photos stand out from anywhere else in SoCal.
Aldrich Park sits at the heart of UCI’s campus, and it’s always one of the first places I take UC Irvine grad clients. The trees, the open lawn, the light filtering through the jacaranda canopy in spring. It all creates a backdrop that feels both natural and cinematic at the same time. Logan’s stole and cap popped against the greens in a way that only happens at golden hour. This is what UC Irvine graduation portraits are supposed to look like.
Langson Library is one of the most architecturally distinctive spots on campus for UCI graduation photos. That curved brutalist concrete facade creates natural leading lines that center right on the subject. It’s literally a frame within a frame. Logan worked it with effortless confidence here, and the tiled exterior gave us a texture-rich background that photographs beautifully even in direct light.
One of UCI’s most underrated graduation photo locations is the MSTB plant arches near the Multipurpose Science and Technology Building. The greenery frames the subject in a way that feels lush and almost tropical. Completely different from the rest of campus. This is one of those spots I always recommend for UC Irvine senior portraits because it creates images that stand out from the typical graduation photo. Logan’s look here was perfect against all that green.
We moved across the ring road to catch the light bouncing off UCI’s campus walkways. This is what I love about University of California, Irvine as a campus. The variety is unmatched. Within a short walk, you go from concrete and tile to lush park to flowering arches to long symmetrical corridors. Every corner gives you something different, and that’s exactly why I love shooting UCI graduation sessions every season.
Back through Aldrich Park for a different angle and energy. The benches under the jacaranda trees are always a fan favorite. When the purple flowers are in bloom, they create some of the most vibrant UCI graduation pictures you’ll see anywhere. Logan’s laid-back energy made every shot feel natural and unforced. These are the kind of photos that end up framed.
The walking shots are always magic. UCI’s Arts Bridge pathway gave us exactly the kind of leading lines and depth that make a photo feel cinematic. Lines leading into the subject, that warm late-afternoon light backlighting the whole frame. This is graduation photography at UC Irvine at its best.
Logan, congratulations on graduating from University of California, Irvine. Four years of hard work, late nights, and everything that comes with finishing a degree at one of the best UCs in the country. These photos are proof that chapter closed beautifully.
