UC San Diego Graduation Photographer | Ariana | UCSD Class of 2026
May 22, 2026 · Jimmy Song
UC San Diego is one of the most photogenic campuses in the country, and every spring I get to prove it all over again. From the sweeping concrete arches of Geisel Library to the sun soaked walkways of the colonnade, UCSD graduation photos have an energy that is completely their own. Ariana brought that same energy to her Class of 2026 senior session, and every single frame shows it. If you are searching for a UCSD graduation photographer who knows every corner of this campus, you are in the right place.
I also shoot graduation sessions at universities across Arizona and Southern California, including UA, ASU, USD, SDSU, UCI, CSULB, UCLA, and USC.
Ariana | UCSD Class of 2026
Ariana graduated from UC San Diego as part of the Class of 2026, and she came to her session with a clear vision: blue and gold stole, white dress, white heels, and as many iconic UCSD spots as we could fit into one afternoon. We started in the colonnade near Geisel Library where the light wraps perfectly around the columns, then made our way down to the bridge walkways before finishing with those unforgettable Geisel Library sign shots. Ariana was a natural in front of the camera from the very first frame.
Best Spots for UCSD Graduation Photos
The UCSD campus gives you so many options for a graduation session. The bridge walkways and railings along the Revelle area are incredible for candid movement shots with the eucalyptus grove in the background. The colonnade just outside Geisel offers soft, even light at almost any time of day. The campus garden paths near the library are perfect for walking portraits in full cap and gown. And then there is the Geisel Library sign itself, which is hands down the most iconic UC San Diego graduation photo location you can find anywhere. We hit all of them with Ariana and every location delivered something completely different.
Geisel Library: The Iconic UCSD Graduation Shot
No UCSD graduation photo session is complete without time at Geisel Library. The building itself is a work of art, with its concrete cantilever design rising above the surrounding eucalyptus trees like something out of a science fiction film. But the shot every UCSD grad wants is the one on the Geisel Library sign wall overlooking the campus. Ariana climbed up and owned every second of it. With her cap raised in the air and the full library structure framing the background, these are the shots she will be looking at for the rest of her life.
What to Wear for Your UCSD Grad Session
Ariana nailed her outfit choices from start to finish. A fitted white mini dress underneath the cap and gown keeps things clean and elevated, especially against the blue and gold UCSD stole. White heels add height and polish without competing with the stole colors. For your own UCSD senior pictures, I always recommend bringing the stole and cap as your primary graduation look, then layering a second outfit underneath for variety. Light neutrals like white, ivory, and cream photograph beautifully against the warm tones of the Geisel Library concrete.
When to Book Your UC San Diego Senior Photos
Booking early is the single most important thing you can do for your UCSD graduation session. Spring commencement season fills up fast, and the most popular campus spots get crowded quickly once graduation week arrives. The sweet spot for most UCSD seniors is booking four to eight weeks before your ceremony date. Early morning sessions in April and May at UCSD are absolutely stunning.
