UCLA Graduation Photographer
UCLA’s campus is practically built for graduation portraits. The Romanesque Revival architecture, the brick walkways, the towering eucalyptus trees, and the sheer scale of the campus create a setting that never feels repetitive no matter how many sessions I shoot here. It is consistently one of my favorite campuses in Southern California.
I shoot UCLA graduation sessions during both fall and spring semesters. There is always something new to find here — the campus is large enough that even returning clients discover locations they’ve never shot at before.
Where We Shoot at UCLA
Royce Hall is the crown jewel of UCLA’s campus and the most recognizable backdrop for graduation portraits in Los Angeles. The twin towers, arched windows, and brick facade give portraits a timeless, prestigious feel that perfectly captures the UCLA experience. Every graduation gallery should start here.
Powell Library sits directly across Dickson Court from Royce Hall and its Romanesque dome and grand entrance create portraits that are equally stunning. Together Royce and Powell anchor the strongest part of every UCLA session.
Janss Steps leading down from the central campus are iconic for wide establishing shots that capture the full scale and grandeur of the university setting.
Dickson Court and the surrounding brick plazas offer beautiful architectural detail and consistent light throughout the day.
Bruin Bear statue is a must for every UCLA session. It is the ultimate symbol of Bruin pride and the one shot every UCLA graduate needs in their gallery.
The sculpture garden and botanical garden provide natural, lush settings for portraits that contrast beautifully with the architecture-heavy main campus.
Santa Monica Beach is 20 minutes from campus and makes for a stunning add-on. Combining Royce Hall portraits with a Santa Monica beach session gives your gallery a range that feels like a full California experience.

What to Expect
Sessions are relaxed, fully guided, and planned around you. We move through 2 to 4 locations and I handle all posing from the first frame. A sneak peek lands in your inbox that same evening. Galleries are delivered within one week through a private online gallery.
What to Wear for UCLA Graduation Photos
UCLA’s warm red brick architecture pairs beautifully with navy, deep blue, forest green, and earth tones. Lighter neutrals also work well against the brick. Most graduates bring 2 to 3 outfits plus their cap and gown. I send a full prep guide before every session.
