Arizona State University
ASU Graduation Photographer | Anna | Arizona State University Class of 2023

ASU graduation season hits different. There is something about the Arizona State University campus in the late afternoon light that makes every single frame feel like a movie. When Anna reached out about booking her ASU graduation session, I knew right away we were going to have a great time. She brought two looks, a contagious smile, and zero nerves. That combination is a photographer’s dream.
Anna is an Arizona State University Class of 2023 grad, and she wanted her photos to feel both elegant and joyful. We shot across some of the most iconic spots on campus: the blooming rose garden near Old Main, the historic brick buildings, the class year sign by the fountain, and the legendary Palm Walk at golden hour. Every corner of this campus delivers something different, and that variety is exactly why I love shooting ASU graduation photos year after year.

We started in the flower garden right off the Old Main courtyard, and it delivered from the very first frame. The warm reds and yellows of the roses against Anna’s white lace dress and gold ASU stole created a color palette I did not want to stop shooting. The light was soft, the background was rich, and Anna was completely at ease. These ASU graduation portraits in the garden are some of the most requested shots for good reason.

Then there was this moment. Arms wide open, laughing, gold honor cords flying. That energy is completely real, and you can feel it in every pixel. This is what I always aim to capture in an ASU graduation session: real moments, real emotion, real celebration of everything you just accomplished.
Old Main and the Historic Heart of ASU

Old Main is one of those locations that never gets old. The warm brick, the iron railings, the arched windows: it adds an architectural richness that you simply cannot fake. Anna worked this balcony with effortless confidence, and the late afternoon light wrapping around the building made every frame glow. For Arizona State University graduation portraits, this building delivers something truly timeless.

The “Normal School 1894” engraving is one of those hidden gems on the ASU campus that not enough people know to shoot. It adds a historic, editorial quality that sets this gallery apart. Anna leaned right into it and let the architecture do half the work.
The Fountain and the Class of 2023 Sign

The fountain is an iconic anchor on the ASU campus, and we used it both ways: slow and elegant, then full celebration. The seated shot with the cap in her lap has a quiet, composed beauty to it. And then the cap raised, huge smile? That one belongs on every platform. Both versions of Anna. Both versions of this moment.

The class sign shot is a tradition for a reason. Anna in full maroon gown, cap mid-air, in front of the big gold “2023” sign with Old Main rising behind her. This is one of those ASU graduation pictures that tells the whole story in a single frame. It belongs framed on a wall.

Palm Walk at Golden Hour
Palm Walk is the most iconic stretch on the Arizona State University campus, and for good reason. The towering palms create a natural tunnel of green that is impossible to replicate anywhere else. We moved here as the light was dropping, and it was exactly the cinematic close this gallery needed.

The walking shots along Palm Walk are always magic. The depth of the palms, the soft golden light, the movement in the gown as she walks. It all comes together beautifully. This is what graduation photography at ASU is supposed to look like.
Casual Look: The Real Anna

We wrapped the session with Anna’s casual look, and it brought a completely different energy to the gallery. The Arizona State University tee, the jeans, the genuine laughter at the fountain. This is the side of college life that people forget to document. I love ending sessions this way. It rounds out the gallery and gives you photos that actually feel like you, not just the occasion.
Anna, congratulations on graduating from Arizona State University. You worked hard for this, and these photos are proof of that chapter closing in the most beautiful way. I am so glad you trusted me to capture it. Fork ’em!
